Early this academic year, one of our brilliant staff members had to undergo a knee operation (wishing you a speedy recovery Mrs Potten – Curriculum Lead for Performing Arts!) and, to her utter surprise, was treated to a catch up from one of our
#TeamRatton ex-students
#Alumni, as the doctor on duty post op.
‘I just thought I’d share this photo and tell you a little bit about my recent reunion with a previous student of mine.
I had a really emotional moment with ex-Ratton student and
Rinceoiri Ratton dancer Amy Barden, who is now a qualified doctor and came to see me after my knee surgery on her shift at the hospital. It was lovely to see her and see her in her role at the hospital and doing so well. Talk about proud of our students!
I taught her first Irish dance steps when she joined in Year 7, she danced at my wedding, she continued to dance with us on Tuesday evenings after she left school and competed at the world Irish dance championships (coming 10th in the world the year before last!). All whilst studying to be a doctor (we all call her the dancing doctor!), how amazing is that!
I got totally emotional when I saw her doing her thing, she’s come so far.’
She has indeed Mrs Potten! Thank you for sharing with us and great to see one of our very own doing so well. Good job Amy! Stay in touch, feeling
#PROUD!
Get well soon Mrs Potten, from all of us at
#TeamRatton.
