JUNE NEWS : YEAR 11 VALEDICTION CEREMONY 2026!
Last Friday afternoon, on what will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the hottest days of the year, staff and students came together to celebrate a very special milestone – our #ClassOf2026 Valediction Ceremony.
The event provided an opportunity for the entire #TeamYear11 community to reflect on the last five years; the friendships formed, challenges overcome, memories created and achievements earned.
It was a fitting celebration of a year group that has contributed so much to life at #TeamRatton and whose journey has left a lasting mark on our school community.
A particular thank you goes to Mr Ahmed, Year Leader, and Ms Jenkins, Assistant Year Leader, who have supported this cohort throughout their secondary school journey and helped provide them with a wonderful send-off as they prepare for the next chapter of their lives.
Reflecting on the occasion, Mr Ahmed said:
“It has been a privilege to watch this year group grow into the young adults they are today. We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved and the way they have supported one another throughout their time at Ratton. We wish them every success for the future.”
Mr Peevers, Headteacher, added:
“Valediction is an important moment in every student’s journey. It gives us a chance to recognise not only academic achievement, but also the character, resilience and friendships that have developed over the last five years. We are immensely proud of this cohort and look forward to seeing all that they go on to achieve.”

“Our daughter has come home in the best of moods, and enjoyed the afternoon so much, a really lovely end to their school journey. Thank you – all of you.”
At Ratton School, we place great importance on creating a strong sense of belonging, and it was wonderful to see students and staff come together to celebrate the shared experiences that have shaped this year’s cohort. The afternoon was filled with pride, reflection, laughter and plenty of emotion as we marked the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.
And the celebrations aren’t over yet!
We will be welcoming our #TeamYear11 students back tomorrow evening for their Prom, and we can’t wait to share another memorable milestone with them as they celebrate the end of their Ratton journey in style. Then, towards the end of summer, we will welcome them back into school ready to receive their long awaited GCSE results on national #ResultsDay – Watch this Space!
To our incredible #TeamYear11 students, thank you for everything you have brought to our school community. We are proud of each and every one of you and wish you every success for the future. See you tomorrow at #Prom – we can’t wait!
