ALUMNI NEWS : CELEBRATING SUCCESS AFTER RATTON!

We always love hearing from our former students, and this one is particularly special…
A huge congratulations to Harry S, who has recently been appointed Head Boy at Bedes, following his time with us at Ratton last academic year. What an incredible achievement 👏
📢Harry shared a little about his journey to securing the role:
“The application process involved 3 stages: first I had to become a house prefect which consisted of writing an initial letter to my House Master expressing my interest for the role. Then I had 2 interviews with both my House Master and previous house Prefect team in which I had to answer a series of questions about why I thought I would be suitable for the role.
After becoming a successful House Prefect, I applied to be a School Prefect where I had to perform a presentation to the Senior Leadership Team about ‘belonging’. Following the presentation, I answered some questions and then waited to see the outcome!
About a week later I was called into the headmaster’s office where he awarded me with the role of Head Boy! After the initial shock, I felt very proud and look forward to undertaking this role at Bedes.”
📢Harry’s former tutor, Mrs Chilvers, also shared her reflections:
“I was Harry’s tutor for nearly his whole time at Ratton School, and it fills me with immense pride seeing how much he has achieved in such a short time, since leaving us only last year!
He was always a highly driven, dedicated and committed student and fully immersed himself in all aspects of school life. He also managed to always keep his feet on the ground and remain humble and respectful of both staff and students alike, and I know that all of the staff body will join me in congratulating him in his most recent success.
We miss you Harry but wish you a huge amount of luck for the inevitable number of milestones you will achieve in the future.”
At Ratton, and across our South Downs Learning Trust community, these are the stories we love to share. Hearing from our alumni not only allows us to celebrate their continued success but also helps to inspire and motivate our current students, showing what can be achieved with dedication, ambition and a strong sense of belonging.🙌🫶
