We are proud to have achieved the Excellence in Pupil Development Award (EPDA) — national recognition of our commitment to developing the whole child and placing personal development at the heart of our school.
This award celebrates the work we do every day to help our students grow into confident, creative, caring young people who are ready to thrive in modern Britain.
The EPDA gives us a clear framework to ensure that every child’s personal growth, wellbeing, and character development are embedded across our curriculum and wider school life.
Our students learn vital skills such as confidence, resilience, leadership, financial awareness, and self‑discipline — helping them develop into well‑rounded individuals.
The award strengthens our approach to behaviour, attitudes, and attendance, helping us create a school environment where positive choices and mutual respect are celebrated.
We work closely with local and national organisations, charities, and businesses to enrich learning and broaden pupils’ horizons. These partnerships give students opportunities to build aspirations and connect with their community.
Our staff receive ongoing training to ensure they can support pupils’ wellbeing, deliver effective PSHE, and measure the impact of our personal development offer.
The EPDA process includes regular self‑evaluation and strategic planning, helping us continue to strengthen provision year after year. This ensures long‑term, sustainable improvement for our school community.

The certification was a rigorous process, and we had to evidence everything that we provide for our students. However, the journey to achieving the award was invaluable in itself, helping us to identify what we could do even better.
